A slight rant...

Now forgive me if I'm wrong but I like to believe I'm curvy.

I mean I have bumps and lumps like most of the genetical champions known as beautiful women but I like to believe they're a nice assembly of bumps and lumps in highly appropriate places (for the most part).  So knowing and believing all of this, of course I was GROSSLY offended that Levi invented jeans entitled "CURVE ID" yet because I am of the plus sized variety, I am excluded from the enjoyment of a wonderful fit of jean.  Now don't get me wrong, I understand that it's not always easy to please the Plus but do you know how much MONEY can be made from making a perfect (or darn near close) pair of fat girl jeans???  I've never been a fan of Levi in the past (thighs and posterior not cut for the ethnic booty) but this seemed like the PERFECT chance to remedy all wrongs.  Alas, it seems it was just I was wrong and it's just not meant to be.  Isn't it bad business to deny a demographic that defnies your title...CURVE ID....meh!

Such a slacker...

So I've been sewing and neglectful...let's catch up.

My Frock by Friday took 3 Fridays to make.  Now it's definitely not because it was all that difficult but more so because I was all that lazy.  It started as a project for my mom or sister but I quickly realized that yet again, I'd misjudged my size.  Consequently I also misjudged my height and instead of a Frock by Friday, I ended up with a Tunic for Tuesday (what better way for me to show my two fat knees)...

Biggest regret is that the print and texture of this material can't be seen in these pics but more to come shortly.  Either way, I now have a basic pattern to tinker around with.  Sadly, this dress will be deconstructed into a skirt of some sorts (too much airspace in the backside area---see below)

Now for some reason, this picture is not playing up to my svelte 5'10" inch Amazonian goodness and I look like a pale cheetah stump. SMH.  ANYWHOO...notice the bunching above the posterior.  This is where a belt SHOULD be applied but when one gets scissor happy, one forgoes the benefit of wonderful accessories.

So for a first go round, I'm not entirely disappointed but I'll definitely do a few things differently the next time.  1. I'll be using a neckline facing for a cleaner finish. 2. The hem will be gifted with an additional 2" and finally (for now) C. A little shape will be given to the torso area.  That's all for now.  Amazonout.

So you can definitely see where this started to go wrong...one strong breeze and the Whoo Ha is exposed on page 12.

So I was right...nightcaps and sewing make for a veerrry long night.  I was in straight binding hell last night.  Who told me I was a professional bias tape maker?? I mean WOW...I burned my fingers so bad on that iron I may as well have pretended that my stove turned into a piano overnight and I was pretending to be Liberace.
Thank GOD I love this fabric enough to care about the final product...So far, this is what I got...(my Frock by Friday's turning into a Frock by Sunday due to dental committments. SMH.

soooo behind (and I ain't talkin' about that big ol' butt)

So much to do. I'm behind on my Frock by Friday project. Determined to finish but boy, my time management skills suck grande. It really doesn't help when your mom visits for glass of wine. Cheers to me not sewing a cuticle tonight. :0/

Good news though! I finally finshed by beautiful nieces' dresses (plural possesive persuasive confusion). I'll get some better pics with them wearing it. :-)

Projects align...

So tomorrow I'm going to be Bobbie the Builder and actually attempt to put up my corkboard.  Gotta start the organization somewhere.  As my room has now become an unofficial workshop, might as well make it look the part.

Struggling a bit as to what fabric i'm going to use for my Frock by Friday...Definitely decided I'm going to make it for my Mom or Sister (not ready to try the grading for myself yet).  Just don't know which fabric I want to part with....

DECISIONS, DECISIONS....
